    Happy Christmas: Santa Claus is on his way to children waiting for him across the world, with Transport Canada giving the official clearance to his annual Christmas Eve journey.

    Canada’s new Transport Minister Anita Anand shared the news in a YouTube video.

    In most countries, it seems Santa arrives between 9:00 p.m.

    In fact, Transport Canada even issued a press release, confirming the official announcement.

    "Today, the Minister of Transport and Internal Trade, the Honourable Anita Anand, officially cleared Santa for his annual flight around the world," the press release said, adding: "The Minister first made sure that all the conditions were ideal for a successful trip.

    With the holiday season right around the corner, the Minister also extended her best wishes."

    The video announcement came with a touch of festive humour as it showed the minister’s assistant reminding Anand about her responsibility to give a green light to Santa's travel.
